It's like it was just yesterday FromSoftware players were concerned that they were going to die before Elden Ring Runes arrived, and it's now a full month removed from its launch. Over the past month, dedicated players have eagerly explored every inch of this huge game, and resulted in excellent coverage on MMOexp dot com.
Elden Ring received rave reviews and many critics were praising developer FromSoftware's switch to a true open-world format (even the fact that this made the tutorial hard to find). Steam users felt similarly but with some issues about the game's performance even on the strongest PCs. My review is, in my opinion, the best even if my editors did not force me to somehow fit 100 hours of gaming time in just a few days--was withdrawn the previous week. Simply put, Elden Ring can be described as one of the best games of 2022.
We soon learned the truth about Elden Ring was pure FromSoftware garbage when the trailer came out a few days before when the movie was released. It's fun to look back and trying to figure out the meaning of the proper nouns the film introduced to an now-innocuous fanbase. I specifically recall wondering what it takes to kill the Dung Eater character that, unfortunately, doesn't perform to the level of his name in the full game.
I was quite excited to learn that Patches exists on Elden Ring, and as the reason, his involvement on Armored Core, Dark Souls in addition to Bloodborne One of the initial pieces I wrote about the game. We had code added longer than many websites, and the footage that we utilized was provided by one of the players who uploaded early footage. As I stumbled across him appearing in Elden Ring myself, I was thrilled to be able to see Patches being used in different ways from his previous appearances. He's still the same ol' jerk.
It is possible to be poisoned in Elden Ring within the first few minutes. Souls series director Hidetaka Miyazaki previously extolled his love for toxic swamps, but I was still awestruck by the speed at which I was able to locate the most disgusting terrain, which made my character sick. No one has beaten my record for speedruns in the world yet I'm sure.
Scouting out poison aside my first real challenge in Elden Ring came as a rickety bridge. FromSoftware has a reputation for tampering the heads of players, and putting players into traps that could be fatal to players in one hit so I was pretty sure this bridge in the first area would be the biggest "fuck the hell" From Software. I ended up being incorrect, but I wouldn't blame me for being a little uncertain.
The man who called Elden Ring players as "maidenless" and told them to "die in a ditch somewhere" in the closed network test was clearly at peace in anticipation of the official release. The name of the guy is Varre and I never saw him for the remainder of my playing time until I checked out the information on his questline . I then sought his attention on purpose. Even with a more pleasant personality, Varre is still pretty boring. Don't be like Varre.
Elden Ring's early-game bridge may not have upset me however, this chest sure did. I recorded my experience of getting sucked into a high-level region of the Lands Between, woefully unprepared and unable to teleport to safety. It was terrifying but definitely helped me prepare for the dangers that awaited me further into the game.
Elden Ring arrived on February 25 and had release day numbers that surpassed its Souls predecessors. In one instance there were more than 760,000 players concurrently playing on Steam and a peak audience at 910,000 watched gamers play on Twitch. If we say that people were excited for Elden Ring Items for sale would be an understatement.
